How to rewrite outgoing From: header with incoming To: header?
Incoming mail gets delivered via Distribution Groups
If the To: header remains unchanged at Group member receipt, on Reply use Transport Rules to replace outbound From: header with incoming To: header text
NOTE: I need to flesh out a test scenario to pass on to my Exchange admin, since my expertise is on the MTA side ...

Repair or Remove a Hub Transport server
Greetings All,
I have a 2010 SP1 UpdateRollup3 server with CAS and HT roles installed. I have attempted to uninstall the HT role but came up with errors as appears below. Is there a way of repairing this install or do I have to manually remove files, reg entries and AD config? Running the ps1 script as mentioned in the notes below also fails.
Summary: 6 item(s). 1 succeeded, 1 failed.

Generic Dropper in Add Aware Bèta. and more.
Almost ready to post about my confession, Artemis and expected mishaps around 2nd Tuesday o.t. month i tonight got mcAfee's warnings it detected and removedTrojan and virus Generic Dropper CPZ from c:ProgramData/Lavasoft/AdAware/Update/Toolbox/Watch.exe.
mcAfee detected it while retrieving updates after 2nd installation of AAW. It's preferences etc have not been removed with de-install. Checked 2 times, both again the updates according to process-status of AAW as well as mcAfee-warnings. knowing this the Lavasoft Bètacenter is too much of a labyrinth for me now, i will not post there yet.
From here i will continue this post as written previous to re-installment of AAW.

New Logitech mouse lost power fr brand-new batteries.
The previous mouse was not Logitech, it was a
Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse 1.0A, USB/PS2. select/copy/paste/drag/drop did not go haywire now.
Still it’s easy to select to much or when not opting to select, these mistakes can be just as easy made on my IT-admin’s new touchscreen. This is in default mouse/touch-sensitivity.
In my eyes this effect might stemm from Office-selection-methodes(was a hunch last few days). Has there been an update to Vista and/or Wordpad and/or Paint like this before The West Innogames got hacked early fall 2009?
I don’t think I had illegal Office anymore then. When my pc became more legal I used Open Office (a bit of adm.) and Windows Wordpad (a lot for playing The West) . Open Office has run alongside legal as well as illegal Vista-Offices on my pc.
Maybe individual hackers and/or malware found a way to get Offices selection-methods into other applications. Here’s the one and only where I see no corporate espionage (of mentioned companies), everything on my pc was affected, including Open Source, Google and Apple, Panda and Norton, Opera. Not at my admin’s or psychiatrist’s computers.

In that case Firefox would be safest. IE is very irregular in this.
On new touch-screen fr my IT-admin it is very easy to select to much or when not opting to select..
Seen from my regular LCDscreen this does not explain all lettersign-problems I had (did not try to read the consoles now).

I Removed Avast freeware (mcAfee and MS SE running).
With Avast McAfee and WSE my pc ran smoothly but with AAW very many minor mishaps, mainly cursor-freeze. Security-updates as well as working with Paint and/or PSR seemed to be involved. Only from AAW-updates I am fairly positive they were involved due to a high count.
New Logitech mouse lost power fr brand-new batteries. Still clearing my mind, it took me about 2 weeks until I realized I could go back to the shop for repair.
The previous (& current) mouse was not Logitech, it was a Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse 1.0A, USB/PS2.

I think I never had so many minor glitches on my own pc as after de-installing Avast and installing Lavasoft AdAware Pro Bèta. I have not significantly been back on Lavasoft-site or forum and I have not been on Office Bèta since.
11 April-updates, Security.
Only Windows Security Essentials beholds its functions.
Adaware de-activated and Mcafee de-activated and partial disabled.
All Security is very slow @ startup & register in windows (configuration screen) Maintainance-center. Warnings work. mcAfee Firewall and mcAfee RT-scan can be manualy activated before registering in Config scr Maintainance but deactivate within a few seconds. When registered in config scr they then had to be manualy activated. Firewall down again in 20 to 50 minutes.
Sometimes mcAfee can show it’s working for half an hour but Win-Config screen Security Center does not register.
Realtime-scan fr mcAfee could not be activated via 2 of 3 obvious path’s fr mainscreen.
Cursorfreeze became pc-freeze. 1 necessary (bluescreen) and 1 wanted recovery to 11 april systemrestore-point.
13th april after 2nd sys-restore to 11th of april AAW Pro Bèta would not update anymore beyond initial installation date 2nd of april. AAW-Startscreen says must be updated while AAW-update-mngr. states updates are OK. No malware found by WSE nor mcAfee. I did not use AAW Bèta anymore, it remained de-activated.
McAfee gives update-warning on mainscreen on the same spot as where manual update should be activated. Could not find another obvious user-method of manually activating update I can not find a mcAfee-manual for that manner.
(I) Can’t update mcAfee manual after System Restore.

All updates from Microsoft, mcAfee, Sun & Adobe seem to be installed except for AAW. AAW remains @ 2nd of April while update mngr states updates are OK. No obvious way to check Update-history from Google & Apple.
McAfee Firewall & rt-scan auto-activated at startup but all security seems to be very slow according to (configuration screen) Maintainance center, about 1½ min. after MSN starts. No warnings because when checked MS SE and mcAfee IS state they are already running.

Maybe otherwise another friend would’ve been lured into the luxury of illegal downloads. I took the blame by installing before my friends got the chance. Now I’ve scared him with my adventures on also the psychiatrists computers. This 4th friend will stick to living without computers.
for terminologie-purposes : 2nd friendin my posts now is a friend still playing in my initial Innogames-The-West-town, possible also other West-worlds. Last year [I don’t get out much yet] he used Fsecure legal buyware alongside cracked Malaware Bites.
for terminologie-purposes : 3rd friend is a friend who now has my IT-admin’s old PC. ½ a year ago I myself installed Artemis!A5BEC55F2AAD as regular trialware with plugins. I did not use it’s crack-key but I might have copied it unto this pc for friend 3 to use.
Total Commander is removed but hey, as with myself and on the psychiatrists public pc’s, with this friend the Trojan (or still hidden malware) might’ve gone back in time to evolve new basic strains. Friend # 3 has been online up to about 2000 with his own computers, thereafter only e-mail on guest- & public computers, as i understood correctly.

Multi tenant moving one tenant/domain to Office 365
Hello All,
We have an in-house Exchange 2010 Server. It runs WebsitePanel and we have multiple clients on it. This weekend, we used SkyKick to migrate our domains over to Office 365. Everything is flowing correctly for all external mail and inter company mail.
The issue arises when one of the other tenants on the server sends email to our domain. It delivers it to the old (in-house) Exchange server instead of sending it to the Office 365 server.
We don't want to shut down the old servers for a few days just in case things are delayed in routing changes due to DNS, etc.
How can I make the other tenants follow the path in the MX record and deliver to our migrated domain at Office 365 instead of sending it to the "internal" old domain that is still on the same Exchange server?
Any help or thoughts would be greatly appreciated,
Thanks
Jason
Mails Stuck in the queue Exchange 2010. Some users mailbox access intermittent
Our Exchange 2010 server was also a DC and a DNS server. Yesterday we ran DCPromo to remove this from the email server. Following this about 1/3 of our mailboxes kept coming back saying that they were unreachable. The system attendant was pointing to the wrong database so we changed this in ADSI edit (HomeMDB attribute.)
The current problem is that random emails are getting stuck in either the Submission queue or the unreachable queue. If I run the command to resubmit the queue most of these will eventually get through. The last error shown on messages in this queue are: The mailbox recipient does not have a mailbox database.
Also random users mailboxes seem to become inaccessible. If you go the the calendar settings tab in the mailbox properties you get: Cannot open mailbox .... CN=Microsoft System Attendant. It was running the command 'Get-calendarPrcessing -Identitiy .... -ReadFromDomainController'
I run a Set-ADServerSettings -PreferredServer ... however it keeps losing this setting?
Email is put back into queue after successful delivery
Hello,in our organisation we have following problem. One our aour user is receiving same email(same ID) every 1h and 10 mins. Checked exchange monitor and the email is repeatly requeued :(

DNS Recursive Query Test Failing
I have a DNS server at a remote location that is not resolving anything outside of the LAN. I have checked to ensure that the forwarders are correct and everything looks to be configured properly otherwise. If I test the Recursive Query it fails every time. I am having a diffucult time tracking the problem. Can anyone offer insight as to what could cause the Recursive Query to fail? Any help is greatly Appreciated.

Send Connector Error
Hi,
I'm trying to create a send connector within Exchange 2010 to have emails sent from my users to a HP ePrint Enterprise server with in my network. When I go to complete the task, I get the following error. In looking around the internet, I haven't found any information to help me. I'm hoping someone here can shed some insight on this error.

Setting up relay between SBS 2011 Exchange to Exchange 2013
Hello,
I'm having some issue setting up the send connectors between two exchange servers on the same internal network. The SBS 2011 will be going away. The new 2013 server will eventually take over. Lets saybob@acme.com is not on the old server. I want it to send that email to the new server if it can't find that person.
The new server is already configured to receive emails and I can send emails to it directly but can't get messages forwarded from the old server. Since the old server is a SBS server, there is no trust or domain sharing between the two servers. The only thing they have in common is the accepted external email domains.
Do I set up a partner, internet, internal, custom send connector? If anyone would be willing to spoon feed it to me I'd greatly appreciate it. I've looked at numerous articles so sending me to an MS article probably won't help.
When I try to send to an address through the old server that is not on it but IS on the new server, I get this -
Remote Server returned '550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.RecipNotFound; not found'
inbound emails failing after applying SSL certificate in the SMTP VS
Hello, asking for help,
here the scenario:
Exchange 2003 running on a Windows 2003 Std 32 bit
Last week of July all emails from users that use Microsoft office 365 were bouncing back to the user and never delivery to my exchange,
by recommendation from Microsoft we applied Hotfix KB948963-x86 --Which fixed the problem and emails from 365 started to flow,
but this broke something else, now we are having some other clients that use to send emails form other email domain/email server, are now not able to deliver messages, also if I do an mx lookup I get that TLS is not supported even it is enabled.
If I apply the SSL certificate to the SMTP VS all and enable TLS, all emails from external sources are not delivered and sessions just keeps open and emails never received.
to allow emails to flow , I have to remove the certificate, but still have some customers complaining, plus in the mx lookup keeps saying TLS not supported.
when certificate applied and TLS enabled here is a record of the log when trying to send an email from my gmail address.

Duplicate Email generated when forwarding
We have a peculiar issue appear since we cutover to delivering all email via our 2 new NLB'd Hub Transport Server (Exchange 2007 in co-existence).
Basically, if internal mailboxes have a forward on them to an AD Contact (If for instance they want a copy of Email sent to an externally hosted Blackberry Service) which has a target address external to the Exchange organisation, 2 Emails are being sent to the external address (Both of these Emails are identical). However, this is ONLY happening for Emails that are sent FROM external accounts to us. If an internal user sends an Email to the internal user who has the forward in place, there is no issue and only one Email is received to the external mailbox.
We have 2 Exchange 2007 Hub transport Servers which accept Email from our SMTP gateway and Exchange 2003. All our mailboxes currently exist on only the 2003 environment. We suspect the issue to be related to the fact that the Contact and Mailbox are 2003 hosted, whereas the routing externally of Email is being handled by 2007.
Any ideas as this is a real head scratcher for us??

NDR since adding additional Exchange servers
We currently have a single Exchange 2010 server with the mbx, hub and cas roles installed. The same server also happens to be a domain controller. It's an inherited system/infrastructure and we know this isn't best practice. We therefore setup a new DC and two new Exchange 2010 servers with all 3 roles as we want a 2 node Exchange 2010 HA cluster. The plan was to retire the old exchange server/dc once all roles, services, databases, etc were migrated to the new 2 node ha cluster. Yesterday we setup the 2 new Exchange 2010 servers. We went with a basic install (again with all 3 roles) for each of the 2 new Exchange servers. Other than applying MS updates we haven't made any amendments to the 2 new servers or the existing Exchange server (ie: they're basic default installs of Exchange). We can see all 3 servers are now listed in the EMC.
This afternoon users started reporting they were receiving NDR in Outlook. The NDR are from emails to outbound external recipients between yesterday and today (ie: since adding the 2 new Exchange servers into the organisation). The message the user receives is:
Delivery is delayed to these recipients or groups:abc@abc.comSubject: ABC
This message hasn't been delivered yet. Delivery will continue to be attempted.
The server will keep trying to deliver this message for the next 1 days, 19 hours and 58 minutes. You'll be notified if the message can't be delivered by that time.
It appears Outlook clients are trying to route via any of Exchange the servers including the two new ones. We assumed this wouldn't be the case. We began troubleshooting but were asked to find a solution quickly due to the impact it was having on the business. We have had to shutdown the 2 new Exchange servers before we could identify the issue. Outlook clients are now able to send emails without getting an NDR.
Before we shutdown the 2 new Exchange servers we tried a telnet test from a client pc to all 3 Exchange servers. The original server accepted the telnet but the 2 new servers refused with an authentication error.
We now need to resolve the issue out of hours which means we have a short window where we can bring the two new servers up at the weekend.
Could someone point us in the right direction? I guess this is a send/receive connector issue or perhaps CAS?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Apply Send Connector Per Attribute
I'm using Exchange 2007 SP1.
I would like to know if there's a way to create a Send Connector that will apply only for users with specific attribute, like Department.
What I mean is that only users with specific value in their Department attribute will send email through this Send Connector
I didn't find any option with the Exchange Management Console or with the Exchange Management Shell...
Thanks!
How to transfer Hosted email accounts outside to a Local Server with exchange
Hi all,
I am recently working to a small company where they have their email is hosted to a company, and they have their outlook configured to receive email from the hosting company, but they have a size limit. Once they reach that limit, they are no longer capable of receiving emails. So, they have purchase a server and I have installed Windows Server 2012 with an Exchange.
I would to know if any can suggest me how can I move or transfer they emails from the hosting company to the Local Exchange Server inside the company building and start receiving emails from the new exchange.
The client outlook is already configured with the hosted company. I just want them to start receiving email from the new Exchange, not from the hosting company.
I need step by step instruction please
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sender failed to send email to our end
Hi All,
I facing some weird issue from my sender, they failed to deliver email to our end and receive bounce back email. I did using Gmail, Hotmail and o365 email send to our end no issue. Every Day more than 2k email flow, only the few domain not able to send to our end. Sender hosted email is from Europe country, will this possible in between country email routing issue ? I had no idea to troubleshoot and not able to found any root course due to the exchange and trend micro don't have any log showing this few domain block.
This is the error code from sender: #< #5.0.0 smtp; 5.4.7 - Delivery expired (message too old) '[Errno 54] Connection reset by peer' (delivery attempts: 0)> #SMTP.
Our Server Environment:
Exchange Server : 2007
Email Filtering: Trend Micro IWSVA
Thank You.
Regards,
Sam
