I have an Exchange 2010 environment. I am sending out from one email address to an efax company but the message gets rejected because of the prvs=mail being added to the from line. (The efax company cannot strip the prvs and because there are numbers in the prvs=mail field before the domain section their system gets confused.)
How can I prevent Exchange from adding this to this one particular email address?

We had a journaling rule enabled in the past. We disabled it from our internal Hub server and that was the end of it.
Today we rebooted our edge server in our DMZ and the submission queue has grown to 150000 messages. Its finally moving them to the old, no longer existing, dnsdeliveryconnector which was where our journaling server was.
I cannot just delete the submission queue because it has email that has come in during the day.
Is there any way to get the submission queue to remove all messages with the next hop destination of our old journaling server?

Our organization just went through a bit of a virus scare. In response we implemented a policy where any ZIP attachments are moderated in order to prevent any other infections from being sent to anyone in the organization via email.
My worry is that the rejection message shows the full display name of the original recipient, which reveals more than I'd like to. The last thing I need is to give someone a higher chance of getting their identity stolen.
I'm running Exchange 2010. Is there any way to customize the rejection message or even just to not show the recipients or the full display name?

I have this error on both my hub transport servers. I cannot get the communication between them.
This is also accompanied by the event ID 2017 in the application log. Description
Outbound authentication failed with error TargetUnknown for Send connector Intra-Organization SMTP Send Connector. The authentication mechanism is ExchangeAuth. The target is SMTPSVC/<servername.FQDN>.

It only tells me how to fix a send connector that i created. The connectors mentioned above is the ones that exchange creates when trying to send between sites.
Has anyone else got this problem if so how did you resolve it?

I have Exchange 2010 Hub Transport server, mail flow is well except for some domains (one of them is bertling.com) have checked DNS resolution from the server and it is resolved well.
emails stuck in the queue with message "451.4.4.0 Primary target Ip address responded with "421.4.4.2 Connection dropped due to SocketError "Attempted failover to alternate host, but that did not succeed. Either there are no alternate hosts, or delivery failed to all alternate hosts. "
then a failure message is sent:

I have a client that wants me to block one part of the company from using Outlook to Automatically Forward to a seperate part. They are allowed to forward mails manually but not in an uncontrolled automatic maner.
I'm familiar with controlling Auto Forward to the Internet but am struggling to see how I could meet their requirements. Any suggestions welcomed.

I was using Forefront Protection 2010 for Exchange Server with Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Standard Edition to filter email spam. Spam levels were increasing, and the Forefront product has been discontinued, so I figured it was time to let it go and uninstalled Forefront, going with Exchange Server 2010's built-in anti-spam support. I added SpamHaus to the IP Block List Providers.
Content Filtering does not seem to be working well. The SCL levels are quite low (e.g. 2) for obvious spam.
The server is no longer receiving bi-weekly anti-spam filter updates via Windows Update. The last update was on 1/21/2015.
Google revealed one customer has been receiving "Enterprise" Block List Updates and Anti-spam Filter Updates, but I have been using the Standard edition:
I tried upgrading in-place from Standard to Enterprise, but Windows Update still has no updates to offer.
Have there been further filter updates since 1/21/2015?
If so, how can I trigger them to download via Windows Update?
If not, has Microsoft stopped issuing filter updates?
If they have stopped, is it just for Standard?
If it is just for Standard, how can I kick them off again for my in-place upgrade?

We've been getting complaints (since we upgraded from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010) from our users stating that sometimes email doesn't arrive at its destination so i decided to do a SMTP scan using http://mxtoolbox.com/SuperTool.aspx and i get the following information...
Company name and IP address changed
220 servername.company.local ESMTP Service ready
OK - 188.201.xxx.xxx resolves to mail.company.com
Warning - Reverse DNS does not match SMTP Banner 0 seconds - Good on Connection time Not an open relay. 5.897 seconds - Warning on Transaction time
I states that my Reverse DNS does not match my SMTP banner, shouldn't this be "220 mail.company.com ESMTP" insted of"220 servername.company.local ESMTP" ..?
And if so how do i correct this on my Exchange Server..?

I am looking to do a search for keywords using Export-Mailbox cmdlet. It seems like there is no way to do a AND search for two keywords (For example "BUDGET" AND "FINANCE").
It seems like the only way we could get partial results would be to put both the keywords in quotes as s ingle keyword with a space (for example "BUDGET FINANCE"). But this doesnt serve the purpose.
I have tried to use Outlook Instant Search / Search folders and OWA search but all yeild different results as it seems like the search function is not consistent across all these 3 features.
For example, the search folders it seems like do not search in the content (attachments) but Outlook online mode folder does / OWA does search etc. / I am not able to search in online folders using Outlok as this is a journal mailbox and has 500K messages with managed folders and there does not seem to be a way to narrow down the saerch only in a specific folder and its subfolders.
Has any body else come across a situation to do a discovery for keywords with an AND operator ? Is there a way to do this using native tools?

We have a Windows SBS 2008 server with Exchange 2007 SP3. After severall hours we are unable to connect to the server with telnet on port 25 from outside. Sometimes a local telnet on the server still works but not always.
The only solution is to restart the server. The transport service can not be stopped.
Even after a fresh reboot the telnet session does not alway show the smtp banner.
Why if i add a "send connector" in an Exchange 2010 environment to point directly to two public IP addresses (referable both to 2 MX records of another public mail domain) i receive this error:
554 Policy Violation. Email Session ID: xxxxxxx
.....somail messagesget stuckin the queue :-(
(Smart Host Authentication: Exchange Server Authentication) --> because also the other mail system is an Exchange 2010.
But:
-If i disable this "send connector" all work fine;
or
- if i set the "Use domain name system (DNS) "MX" records to route mail automatically" inside this connector, all work fine.
