Hi,
I have Ms Exchange 2003 sp2 running on Windows Server 2003 sp2. It started just today when users ( so far I know of two) send an email to a distribution list in outlook 2007, some of the users in the distribution list receive them, and others don't. On one of these particular machines I have tried the same email a few times and the same users in the distribution list receive the email every time however, the other users in the distribution list don't. The sender's email is also in the distribution list but never gets the email. if the user sends the email only to him self, it works.
So I started the investigation by looking at Message Tracking center where I realized that among the distribution list the same users kept getting the email while the others don't. This Exchange server has no email virus checking or anything else special on it.
I see
SMTP store driver: Message submitted from store
SMTP: Message submitted to Advanced Queuing
SMTP: started Message Submission to Advanced Queue
SMTP: Message Submitted to Categorizer
and there is nothing more...no ndr's, no errors, it's like the message is lost in cyber company space.
Can someone please help me to figure what's going on and why and most of all how to fix this issue.
Thanks,
My organization is running Small Business Server 2008 with Exchange. After installing Exchange users reported not reciveing emails from Comcast and a few other domains. Looking at the logs, domains including gmail and comcast are unable to deliver email to our Exchange mailboxes. They receive an error message like the following.
Technical details of temporary failure:
Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 451 451 4.7.0 Timeout waiting for client input (state 18).
Other domains send just fine. Any ideas what is causing the 451 4.7.0 connection timeout error message? The following is an example SMTPReceive log.
I need help
I got the error:
I need to Help - error 451 4.4.0 Primary target IP Address responded with: "554 spamwall.xxxxx.com Your access to this mail system has been rejectec due to the sending MTA´s reputation. If you believe that this failure is in error, please contact it
After we enter in a blacklist, I requested the removal of the list but have this error to send to some other companies and I can send.

I am getting spam msg 550.5.7.1 on all outgoing msg. I tried contacting my ISP and all seems to be set up right in outlook express. I tried restarting outlook express, rebooting computer, and retyping all the settings for the server in outlook express. I don't know where to go from here.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Elmer
Today, we've gotten quite a few 550 5.7.1 Sender ID (PRA) Not Permitted rejections on our Hub Transport for 4 different domains. We have Sender ID enabled but have never had to whitelist anyone. I've checked both Test-SenderID and from NSLOOKUP. They test successfully from our Hub Transports.

I have been pulling my hair out with this one and hopefully someone can help.
I need to search a mailbox and export all (sent & received) messages that fit in a date range and also have a specific word in the body. The query I am using doesn't seem to find the term at all, but the messages it does find fit within my date range, so part of it seems to work. The request was to not use wildcards too, only looking for the specific word in the body. Here is my one-liner...
New-MailboxExportRequest -ContentFilter {(Body -like "Something") -and (Received -gt "07/01/2012") -and (Received -lt "07/31/2012") -or (Sent -gt "07/01/2012") -and (Sent -lt "07/31/2012")} -Mailbox "SearchMailbox" -Name "Label1" -FilePath \\server\temp\pst\Export.pst
I've also tried to search for a common word like "the" just to make sure it wasn't a case of the term simply not being in mailbox. No dice.
Last week we changed Internet provider in my company, I had a problem because I received various mails and It's says my IP address public was inside in BLOCKLIST1.
My Internet provider will give me another IP address public for change in my Exchange Server, As I can do to not enter in a BLOCKLIST1? Are there any specific procedure for changing the IP address public?
Thank you
Exchange 2010 w/SP3 w/Rollup 4 on Server 2008R2 running in VMWare – “Reviewer” Delegate access will not work for Inbox for anyone. Error is unable to find folder (Outlook) or Your mailbox appears to be unavailable(OWA), when you try to connect to it via Outlook or OWA..
I have not been able to add Inbox folder delegate access “Reviewer” to anyone in our organization that will actually work. Calendar Delegate Reviewer works and Inbox Delegate FullAccess works without issue. I am told this issue began after SP3 Rollup 4 and was not previously a problem, previously working reviewer delegates cessed functioning in the same as well.. I believe I have exhausted search resources at this point providing a possible solution to this issue, which I have tried with new and existing accounts with no joy. All the commands execute without error and the account indicates the applied access is present.
I have performed the below commands, additionally I read that there needs to be read/create permission on the Drafts folder for the purpose of caching which is the purpose for the drafts access. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Add-MailboxPermission –Identity sharinguser –User revieweruser –AccessRights ReadPermission,ChangePermission
Set-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity sharinguser:\ –User revieweruser –AccessRights Reviewer
Set-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity sharinguser:\Inbox –User revieweruser –AccessRights Reviewer
Set-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity sharinguser:\Drafts –User revieweruser –AccessRights Reviewer
Add-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity sharinguser:\ -User revieweruser –AccessRights Reviewer
Add-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity sharinguser:\Inbox –User revieweruser –AccessRights Reviewer
Add-MailboxFolderPermission –Identity sharinguser:\Drafts –User revieweruser –AccessRights Reviewer
Hello,
I am very new to using Powershell and Exchange Management Shell, and have no prior experience using either of these tools. However, the software I am installing requires me to use the EMS tool in order to set certain permissions for a user in Exchange, which will be like the admin account.
The command I am attempting to run follows as:
Get-ExchangeServer | Remove-ADPermission -User $newusername -Deny -ExtendedRights Receive-As -Confirm:$False
This throws me an error saying:
cannot remove the access control entry on the object because the ACE isn't present. I've done some research, and have found that this error is quite common, but the solutions do not apply to what I am specifically trying to accomplish. I am simply trying to remove the Receive-As permission for the admin user that I just created.
Once again, I am very new to Exchange and Powershell, but if there is any advice anyone has, it would greatly appreciated.
Hello
I just wanted to know if it is possible to schedule a transport rule daily? I want to automate it. I have added the transport rule and created some batch files that start the scheduled task and stop it. What i would like to know is does this affect the transport service in any way?
Does my transport rule always have to be ON or OFF?
thanks
Hello,
I am attempting to run the following command in EMS in order to make a new user I just created in EMS the owner for public folder permissions:
Get-PublicFolder -recurse | Add-PublicFolderClientPermission -User $newusername -AccessRights Owner -Confirm:$False
For some reason, I am receiving an error saying 'failed to commit on the object, because access is denied'
I have already added this user to the Public Folder Management group by running:
Add-RoleGroupMember "Public Folder Management" -Member $newusername
I am running these commands as Administrator user, and I also tried this with the new user I am creating added to the Administrators group as well, and I still receive this error.
Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Hi there,
I have been trying for 4 days to get a response from delist@messaging.microsoft.com. This is urgent as our companies email is being blocked unfairly from reaching our clients. This is causing a real business problem. Microsoft have not replied within the promised time period. Phoning technical support at Microsoft is a farce - and very unhelpful.
Can anyone let me know of a phone number so i can actually talk to a human being about this please
This level of unresponsiveness is not acceptable. If you say you will respond in 24 hours then i expect exactly that.

Ben

Hi,
Recently, we start receiving "internal" emails from spammers.
How I can automatically block an "internal" email who has no AD object (user or group) to link with?
Example:
my domain is @mydomain.com
I have a user bob with the email bob@mydomain.com and a distribution group tech with the email tech@mydomain.com
How can I let pass theses emails from them but block Viagra@mydomain.com who obviously do not exist in my AD
I have a server Exchange 2007 and the AD forest level is 2003.
Thanks for your help,
Alex,
Hi,
I'm trying to create a hub transport rule to prepend a message subject when an email is received from outside the organisation and where the recipient address contains'address@domain.com' (where this address is a secondary SMTP address of a Distribution List).
I've found that this rule works when the address resolves to mailbox (primary or secondary smtp address), but if I change the rule to use an address associated with a distribution list it does not work.
I'm using Exchange 2010 SP2
Does anyone know why I can't use the 'recpieint address contains' or 'recipient address matches' conditions with an address associated with a DL? But the exact same rule will work if the address is associated with a mailbox?
Thanks,
Shane.
