Exchange 2010 Email Size Limits

Hi,

We have a locally hosted Exchange 2010 Server (Server 2008 R2 SP1) which I have set limits on the incoming and outgoing email messages, through the management console. I have checked through all the settings and they are all correct. I have ran a check on these settings by using a Power Shell command and it comes back and confirms the correct limits for sending and receiving. It works fine for sending emails as it will not send emails over our 10MB limit (they do not pass through any filter outgoing). However, it will not allow emails in that are over 10MB (even though the limit is set for 14mb).

All our incoming email gets filtered through a Barracuda appliance and I have checked the settings and they allow emails up to 100MB by default. I understand that emails with attachments that get scanned can increase by around 33% of the original sending size, which is why I have increased the receiving limit to 14MB. My aim is to tell the users the limit is 10MB both ways, then even when a 9MB email we are receiving gets scanned through the Barracuda and increases to 13MB we will still be able to receive it.

I have restarted both the Exchange Server and the Barracuda, I've updated the firmware on the Barracuda but still no joy.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Regards
