USPS.COM ERROR MESSAGE
Poison message - crash of HUB
I have something weird and I can't find what happens, since 3 days I got a lot of errors in the event of both HUB and at the end of the day I need to restart the server to get mail flow back (stop the svc don't work)
Hardware is HPDL380G5 bi-quad core, 8GB RAM, lots of disk space and queue on separate RAID
Exchange is 2007 x64 SP1 RUP5
All errors have the same GUID, the poison queue is empty, and I was not able to locate the mbx, database or anything with this GUID, I checked all logs (tracking, connectivity etc...) to find something recurrent but no luck, at the end of the day the mail flow stopped after the 3 events bellow
Also at the end of the day, I check that no large mailing were done at the same time and backup is not schedule at this time
Any help will be greatly appreciate as I did not find anything on the Net for this
Thanks
JP

Eteller SMTP relay issues
Basic setup is we have a eteller - that is using a AD authenticaed user account to send emails . There is one account in specific that gets three emails sent out. One to the public folder and two to external email addresses. THe only one that fails is one of the external email addresses. In addition to this there is a monthly cycle where 2500 emails are sent to clients 2000 will go thru but the other 500 have to be resent. Is there a limit on the email traffic being able to be sent in exchange 2010 ? Is there a way to track the emails going thru the recieve connector to better understand where the failure is ? Is there some kind of logging we can do to track those emails that automatically get sent out that use the SMTP relay connector ? |
Adding a SMTP connector
Hi,
Currently we have an Exchange 2003 server and all mail going outbound flows through a single SMTP connector to a smarthost (which is actually another Exchange server).
We are adding a DLP device that we want to place between the 2 servers and I'm looking into way to do this.
A far as I can tell making the change is as simply as adding a second SMTP connector, assigning it the single SMTP virtual server we have, and then using the delivery restriction tab to control access the connector (at first we'll only want a couple of test users to use the connector, eventually all mail will flow through the device), but we want to leave the old SMTP connector behind in the event the DLP device fails and we need to bypass it.
Does this make sense?
IP Block List Providers Strange Behavior
Hello,
I have a strange behavior regarding IP Block List Providers.
We have two Exchange 2007 Servers of same Organization; one is inEurope (configured for @domain.com) and the other is in China (configured for @domain.cn). I setup two IP Block List Providers:
- SpamHAUS - zen.spamhaus.org
- SORBS - dnsbl.sorbs.net (Currently disabled)
China's users don't receive e-mails from any sender since last two days; running PowerShell commandletGet-AgentLog I get: "550 5.7.1 Recipient not authorized, your IP has been found on a block list".
If I use IP Address Lookup Tool from SpamHAUS
site, it doesn't appear to be listed on their database.
PowerShell commandlet Test-IPBlockListProvider launched on bothEurope and China Exchange Servers gives different results for same tested address:
Test-IPBlockListProvider "SpamHAUS" -IPAddress <IPAddress>
Europe Exchange Server Result
- Provider: SpamHAUS
- ProviderResult: {}
- Matched: False
China Exchange Server Result
- Provider: SpamHAUS
- ProviderResult: {220.250.64.23}
- Matched: True
Have you never get this strange behavior ?
Bye,
Luca

Unable to Start Microsoft Exchange Transport Service on Exchange 2010 & Windows Server 2008 R2
Hello Everyone,
I have a Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 with Exchange 2010 (Rollup 5) both on the same server (currently in staging and testing environment). Unfortunately, I've not been able to get the Exchange 2010 Transport Service running. It's been almost 7 days now since I've been dealing with this problem and I'm very frustrated now.
Here's what happens:
When i try to start the Microsoft Exchange Transport Serrvice manually i get the following error:
The Microsoft Exchange Transport Service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs.

Message Limits Exchange 2007
Hello all,
I am really stumped. I am running Exchange 2007 on Server 2003 R2 64 bit and I am trying to raise the message recieve limit.
I have done this through the EMC and the EMS. Checked it with the command Get-Tranportconfig | ft MasSendSize, MaxrecieveSize and it shows the limit to be 500MB but when I test this by sending a 15MB file I get this message back:

Send Connector?
I’m running E2K7 SP1 on W2K8SP2 (both Enterprise) and have a routing problem. I host multiple domains but need to send outbound email for one domain to a separate smarthost. I thought I could do this with a Send Connector however it doesn’t seem to work as expected. Can anyone help?

Restricting multiple recipients for Inbound Emails
Hi,
In order to prevent all internal users from sending an email to more than 25 recipients, we have enabled the followingset-transportconfig -MaxRecipientEnvelopeLimit 25
I set this at Organization Level-->Global Settings...But external users are still able to send email to more than 25 recipients. I want to restrict them as well so that external users should not be able to send more than 25 internal recipients at a time.

Exchange Transport Service wont start - no routing groups found
I'm getting a really strange and frustrating error in my exchange 2007 environment.
Following a server reboot the Transport service would not start
The following detail was in the application event log
Source: MSExchangeTransport
Event ID: 5023
The following information is part of the event: No routing groups were found., Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Categorizer.TransientRoutingException: No routing groups were found.
at Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Categorizer.RoutingGroupRelayMap.ValidateConfig(ExchangeTopology topology, RawRoutingConfigData rawConfigData, DateTime timestamp)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Categorizer.RoutingTables.ValidateConfig(RawRoutingConfigData rawConfigData)
at Microsoft.Exchange.Transport.Categorizer.RoutingTables.PopulateTables(RawRoutingConfigData rawConfigData).
An extensive trawl through technet and knowledgebase hasn't helped. Teh transport service still fails to launch.
Uninstall of tranport service and re-install... results in same error.
this is a single exchange server 2007 environment. There are no other servers needing to be connected to - so should be no need for a routing group.
Global catalogue and domain controller are on a seperate box and are contactable (ping) from the exchange server. Its not a VM environment.... so it shouldn't be this hard....
any ideas?

Shared mailbox e-mail notifications
I am preparing to migrate my corporate e-mail infrastructure from Lotus Domino to Exchange Server 2010 sp3. Now in Lotus Domino we use a lot of shared mailboxes. Users are accustomed to getting e-mail notifications whenever shared mailbox receives new e-mail.
Could you advise me what should I do to have such functionality:
Each time shared mailbox receives new e-mail then e-mail notification is sent to users who have full access to this mailbox.

Delivery is delayed error when sending to a particular address.
We have been running 2 Exchange 2010 servers for about 1 year. Very few problems. However, I had a user today that complained of this error: Delivery is delayed to these recipients or groups:...
I sent a test message to the intended recipient and he got the message. Then I had the user send a test msg and it worked too. So I thought the problem was solved. However, later we got another "delayed error" from a different msg sent to this recipient. So I used message tracking to troubleshoot the problem. Below is what I found on the delayed message. What might be going on and what else can I do to troubleshoot this issue? thanks
